Pernod Ricard Off- Trade Summer Conference
Onyx were briefed by Pernod Ricard to bring together their off-trade team for their annual meeting, combining morning meetings with afternoon activities, a dinner and a quiz.
Onyx brought Pernod Ricard to their home town, being based in such a beautiful location on the south coast they sometimes want to share it!
Onyx held the conference for Pernod Ricard at the gorgeous Captain’s Club Hotel and Spa, with views over the Christchurch river! The day started with coffees and croissants on a private terrace, a fresh start to the day for them to take in the morning sun and appreciate the lovely views and surroundings. Onyx then arranged a spacious and airy conference room for Pernod Ricard to hold their morning meeting.
They finished meetings at midday and were lead to get onto a private vintage ferry, the ferry took them on a scenic journey up the river to their activity location. The ferry moored up and the team were greeted with a private area set up for a beach BBQ!
As Pernod Ricard have an energetic and competitive team Onyx wanted to give them an activity that would let off some steam… and it worked!
The team was split into 3 groups, they had to work together to build rafts that they would go onto race! They all got really into this with races and competitions getting very silly, with everyone ending up in the water!
When they were all worn out and thought the activities were over, they got a shock, the transport back down the river to the hotel was by Dragon boat! 3 dragon boats promptly turned up for more competition to take place! They had to race down the river in these dragon boats to get back to the hotel! They all enjoyed this soo much that they went past the hotel and wanted to have another 100-meter final race as the tie breaker! Safe to say they had all now worked up an appetite again!
After a bit of R&R Onyx walked the team up to Bodega in Christchurch – Bodega is a lively wine bar and deli packed with character and locally sourced delicious food – Onyx had booked Bodega exclusively for the evening and had Meats and Cheeses, Fruit de Mer and Tapas on offer.
They started the evening off with a quiz, which is becoming a bit of a tradition for this group! Then as a surprise Onyx brought in a karaoke machine, every year a couple of members of the team end up getting up and singing and this year Onyx wanted to give them all the gear to do this properly, they loved it!
The evening Onyx went on into the early hours with the whole team enjoying having a private venue, good food, wine and dodgy singing to enjoy!
A successful event with excellent feedback from the client, brilliant weather and a fun, energetic day! We have a debrief in the diary and are already in the process of coming up with ideas for next year.
