Pernod Ricard Channel Meeting
Onyx were asked to bring together again the sales team for their annual meetings with various business meetings over two days and of course a lot of fun!
We chose to use Plymouth as our location for this year’s Channel Meeting due to the Plymouth Gin Distillery based there which is a Pernod Ricard Brand.
As we were soo lucky with the weather last year we decided not to try our luck and chose more indoor activities for this year’s event (which turned out to be a very good idea as it poured with rain!)
The delegates arrived at the hotel in the afternoon of the Monday where they all gathered for drinks in the Hotel Bar before a transfer arrived to take them to their beautiful dinner venue at The Royal William Yard. The Royal William Yard is the thriving hub of Plymouth and is one of Plymouth’s premier lifestyle destinations, with an array of leading restaurants you can relax and take advantage of the sea views of Plymouth Sound. Here Onyx had arranged an exclusive room with tasty Tapas and a private bar where the champagne and Plymouth Gin and Tonics were flowing!
The following morning delegates were picked up bright and early to be taken to Plymouth Karting, here they were greeted by an outstanding breakfast spread that a private caterer had prepared for them. They then went into their morning meeting which was in a large room overlooking the karting track.
The Team was then split into 4 groups to rotate between Laser quest and go karting! All the delegates loved it and got very competitive! After they had completed the rotations and had all their fastest times they stopped for lunch.
Lunch was the highlight of the day with a private caterer preparing rare beef (cooked to order) dressed in honey and mustard accompanied by hot new baby potatoes a beautiful warm salad, which got fantastic reviews from the hungry bunch!
After they had eaten they finished off the day’s activities by having the final races to find out the top three fastest drivers and the bottom three, as they are a very competitive group this created a lot of excitement especially when we did the awards presentation complete with a podium and champagne!
That afternoon Onyx took them to The Plymouth Gin Distillery for a tour. They learnt a lot and then were treated to a Plymouth gin and tonic at The Refectory bar, where most of them stayed enjoying gin cocktails until dinner.
After a little bit of R&R they had a stroll down to the Barbican where they had exclusive use of a lovely restaurant overlooking the marina. Luckily by now the rain had gone away so they could enjoy the use of the private terrace and games that Onyx had arranged. They had a brilliant dinner served to them and a lot of fun and laughter was had by all.
The next morning, they finished up by having a morning meeting followed by a delicious packed lunch before heading on their way!
A fantastic event had by all with great feedback from the client. The weather was terrible but didn’t affect the event at all, we have a debrief in the diary and are starting to come up with some sunny outdoor ideas for next year!
