Pernod Ricard Channel Meeting
Onyx were approached to bring the off trade drinks team together for their annual gathering to include some outdoor fun and various business meetings over a two day period. Onyx worked with the senior management team to create an end of year “Wow” factor event.
A number of venues across the UK within easy reach of London was selected and presented to the Channel Director and the Senior Management Team.
The New Forest area was chosen due to the easy reach from London, direct trains and stunning location. The delegates arrived at Careys Manor in the morning and were then transferred onto a coach ready and waiting to take them to the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. They were welcomed with bacon sarnies and a continental breakfast to kick start their busy day.
2 hours of meetings took place in a lovely room overlooking the Solent – They were very lucky with the weather seeing as it was mid-November!
After the delegates had lunch they were taken over to the RNLI Station where Bligh Julius and John Husband who are members of the RNLI gave them an exclusive tour of the station. They had to be on guard though incase a shout took place as they would have been bombarded with about 12 crew running in to get their gear on!
Once the tour was over all delegates were taken back to the hotel where they had an afternoon of fun out in the field. The team was split into 6 groups and rotated around various activities (a bespoke tablet treasure hunt around the local area of The New Forest, Archery, Team Challenge games and Segway exploring) These were all competitive and the awards were announced at dinner. The delegates were then treated to having a couple of hours of R&R and were able to relax in the Award Winning Spa or chill in the lounge with an open fire.
Once they were rested, the bar was open for pre-dinner drinks. Then all the delegates were transferred to the local restaurant in Lymington named The Ship Yard. We had exclusive use of this restaurant for the night. The chef created bespoke dishes for the night to suit the clients needs. The menu included delights such as crab, meats, Lymington cod, slow cooked beef cheek along with starters, desserts and local cheeses.
The team were joined by the brilliant 2014 Apprentice Finalist Daniel Lassman who produced a bespoke interactive quiz for Pernod Ricard, incorporating specific company questions. These were asked pre, during and post dinner. Everyone really got involved and had a really fun evening. Daniel even had the Channel Director up dancing and singing – all part of the quiz of course! – This was a great added bonus to the already enjoyable evening!
The following day the team was split up into four groups to take part in 4 forums. They rotated around the forums every 30 minutes. Once the meetings were over a pack lunch bag was handed out to everyone to take home with them after a busy activity filled couple of days.
Fantastic feedback has already been received and the next event is in the pipeline! The event was a success and met all Pernod Ricard’s expectations.
