Bunzl UK & Ireland – Scotland
Onyx created in 2010 working with the Senior UK & Ireland Director, The Brand of the Directors Forum, locations being, 2009 Cambridge University, 2010 Hamble, 2011 Edinburgh, 2012 London, 2013 Portsmouth, 2014 Glasgow – Each year having a focussed theme and agenda.
To create the ongoing “surprise element” of this event brand as every year we have the same delegate feedback, “how the hell can you beat this next year” The 2014 theme evolved into Deliver your Best, through our understanding of the ongoing business strategy.
Held at the beautiful Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond . Our challenge was to encourage cross functional analyse of business opportunities to be sure that individuals and Bunzl Operational Businesses are simply Delivering Their Best.
Invited by our newly launched Event App, delegates arrived on the Thursday morning direct to the Boat House, lakeside at the Hotel, to board the beautiful Silver Dolphin, for the meet and greet, whilst cruising across the stunning Loch Lomond, to moor up at the Cruin Restaurant another stunning location to hold a mid-morning meeting.
The Bunzl Team were overwhelmed when met by Steve Backley and Roger Black both Olympic Champions, who delivered a focused presentation on their Delivering their Best to achieve Olympic Golds, and relating this back into business goals, these guys have now developed are really strong coaching session to enlighten delegates positive attitude etc. Dale Stokes from Bunzl tweeted this; ‘Cracking coaching session with @Steve_Backley and @RogerBlack400 @BackleyBlack together a short loan of Olympic medals!’ Along with a picture of him wearing their medals 😉
The delegates then returned to Cameron House only to see two Sea Planes moored by the jetty, with an invitation to experience the Lochs & Western Isles from 1000ft! The weather could not have been more perfect, everyone loved it and wanted to go for another ride! The scenery was breath-taking!
After their stunning scenic trip, guest were all given traditional Scottish dress to wear, men wearing Kilts and the ladies in tartan Sashes. Everyone looked fantastic, it really made the evening!
Before their 3 course Scottish Dinner was served they again enjoyed a ‘A Journey with Taste’ welcome, with a Whisky Tasting experience, promoting the history of Whisky and enjoying 3 different Malts, from smell and taste. A Piper, piped the guests into the private restaurant, where they were enjoyed a dinner of world famous Scottish beef and Salmon, not forgetting the “address the haggis” ceremony.
The following day the delegates enjoyed a morning of Golf at the famous Carrick Golf Club along with a lesson in Archery and a Falconry Experience.
Fantastic delegates response, strong alignment to cross functional engagement, and the brief for Onyx to develop the 2015 event!
